Education & Health Nepal was founded in 2014 by two friends who have spent the last three years working in another volunteer organisation because they want to specialise in those two fields.
Both Wayne Guttridge and Phil Palmer have two aims only and they are to create an organisation that is 100% transparent and the difference it makes can be seen. Our aim is to create a volunteering organisation run by volunteers that develop projects that help without creating a reliance on charitable donations. By using what Nepal has to offer the world (The Himalayas and tourism) we hope to give people the chance of bettering their lives. Working with local schools to teach English, support long term projects by helping orphanages create a safe environment for the children and improve the medical care in the rural farming communities. But EHN isn’t just an organisation but has become a family of people who are interested in making a difference to other people’s lives.
Coming soon we are looking to invite a number of ex volunteers to join EHN as members who will be able to support, vote and shape the future of our great organisation.
Helping others is one of the best hobbies in the World!
Mina is our President, currently working in London alongside her husband Wayne, helping EHN to adapt our ideas and make them work in a Nepali context.
Sunju is our treasurer who manages the accounts, airport collections and city tours amongst other jobs, and still finds time to help children in schools.
Phil (Founder) is one of our international advisers & main contact for EHN in Nepal. He manages the placing of volunteers, researches new projects and many other jobs that keep him very busy!
Wayne (Founder) is our other international adviser and heads all international advertising. His job covers all aspects of advertising, research into new placements and helping EHN grow as an international organisation.
