Kathmandu disabled centre

Do you have experience of working with disabled children?
Would you like to help in this children’s home in Kathmandu?

We are looking for volunteers to help look after 11 disabled children in Kathmandu helping with daily chores such as homework, fun and some basic physiotherapy.

1503397_577667408979156_1541021203_nYour duties will be to help get the children ready, washing and cleaning, playing plus helping to get the food ready and some basic physiotherapy to help with muscle development. The position is full time meaning 6 days a week with Saturdays off but you will have time off during the day to use internet or do laundry.

You are also only about a 15 minute from Boudha the biggest Buddhist stupa in Nepal. This is a great place to experience Buddhism up close, either meeting monks in the streets or just relaxing in a local cafe to the sound of Buddhist prayers and horns.
We require volunteers who are happy to volunteer for a minimum of 1 month for this placement only. We feel this will give you and the children longer to build a bond plus it will give you time to have a greater effect.

Please note we are looking for all types of volunteers here including specialist in the care of disabled children who can help train the staff here. But even if you dont have the qualifications but have a desire to help children then this is the placement for you. Like in most of the projects we support the more you put in the more you get back.

Note- EHN intends to work closely with Pema and the home and expand its operations to helping more disabled children in KTM, if you are looking to invest time and money fundraising for a worthy cause then this is the one for you. Up to date we have been sending volunteers there, have  funded a new roof and about to fund the strengthening of the well so the water supply is safe.
